Learning and mastering the basics of drifting in a custom spec Nissan or Lexus, including donuts, figure 8s and short circuits, this fun and lively session is run by expert drifting instructors, who will be pushing you to get the most out of your drive.
Plus, you'll also enjoy 6 drifting passenger laps with the instructor at the wheel to replicate a competition routine and see just what these cars are capable of under the hands of the pros!
Perhaps you're more of a supercar person but are intrigued as to just what the fuss is all about with drifting cars? This recently launched voucher at our Hertfordshire venue will give you the chance to experience both, with savings of 50% off.
Following your arrival, sign on and safety briefing, you'll head first to the supercar circuit for 4 sighting laps (including a high speed passenger lap) to help get accustomed to the track, followed by 8 laps driving your assigned supercar with 1:1 coaching from the instructor.
Then, you'll head over to the Drift Circuit, where you'll have 4 sighting laps (plus a thrilling sideways high speed passenger lap) in the Drift Taxi to learn the lines and transitions, followed by 8 drifting laps in the Mazda MX-5 with the instructor guiding you through power-oversteer, handbrake initiation and controlled slides. Those who are a little more experienced behind the wheel of a drift spec car may want to advance their skills further. And this full day's intensive 1:1 session will provide you with many more tips and tricks to take your drifting to the next level.
You'll have a refresher over the basic techniques - donuts, figure 8s, short circuits as well as Scandinavian flicks - before you attempt more advanced manoeuvres under the guidance of an expert instructor in a custom Nissan or Lexus.
And of course, you'll get the chance to put your newly learned tricks into practice on the main drifting track to round things off - by which time you'll have grown and gained in confidence!
Perhaps you're a total newcomer to drifting and are wanting to go to pro level in a short space of time? This three tiered drifting course will take you through, step-by-step, to help make that dream a reality - all in less than a day, and all under the guidance of your instructor.
Following your sign on and briefing, your first session will focus on powerslides, and how to enact power over initiations, countersteer and throttle balance. Then, your second session will focus on extending the drift, how to quickly and effortlessly change direction, how to exit smoothly from a drift and execute handbrake initiations.
From here, you'll progress to the third and final session, where you'll be bringing all your newly acquired skills behind the wheel and expanding upon this to add in weight transfer, clutch kick and shift lock initiations, using more gears, drifting at higher speeds, extending and contracting your drifting lines within 'clipping zones', and getting a real feel for what it's like to be on a qualification run.
All of this plus a passenger ride with the instructor at the wheel, and a certificate of completion of your course makes this one epic drifting voucher!
If you've ever wanted to pitch two drift spec cars against one another to see which has got the most impressive handling and steering on the drift stage, this unique experience at Bovingdon Airfield will give you the chance to do so.
The 'Drift Battle' pitches a BMW E90 Drift Taxi versus a Nissan 350z. Your experience will commence with a Drift Tuition session, combining classroom with on-track learning, covering drift lines, throttle and braking techniques, as well as 4 sighting laps (including a sideways high speed passenger lap in the Drift Taxi with the instructor at the wheel).
Then, you'll head to the street-inspired drift course, consisting of a series of Japanese 'Zen Garden' roundabouts, with 4 drifting laps each in both the BMW and 350z - that will hopefully settle the debate, or maybe even change your perspective on it!
