The Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit is 3.3 miles (5.33km) in Length. The Circuit is known for its thrilling motorcycle (and car) motorsport events and has several corners that are well-known for their unique challenges and characteristics. Here are the names of the corners at the Phillip Island Circuit:
- Doohan Corner (Turn 1) - Named after the Australian five-time 500cc world champion Mick Doohan.
- Southern Loop (Turn 2) - A long, sweeping corner that follows the main straight.
- Stoner Corner (Turn 3) - Named in honor of Casey Stoner, another Australian MotoGP champion.
- Honda Hairpin (Turn 4) - A tight left-hander that is crucial for setting up overtaking opportunities.
- Siberia (Turn 6) - A bowl-shaped corner that dips down, where bikes and cars speed up as they exit the corner.
- Lukey Heights (Turn 9) - A blind, uphill right-hander that leads into a sharp drop.
- MG Corner (Turn 10) - A slow, tight left-hander named after the MG car club.
- Turn 11 – Leading towards the final corner, often setting up for the finish.
- Turn 12 – The final corner that leads onto the Gardner Straight, named after Wayne Gardner.
These corners contribute to the high-speed and flowing nature of the Phillip Island Circuit, making it an awesome track to ride.
Phillip Island Bike Track Day Trips
in January 2025 we have our first organised track day trip to the Island. The package price includes:
- 4 full days of track time (7 x 20 minute sessions each day)
- 5-nights Hotel accommodation based on a twin share basis (a few hotels to choose from)
- Bike transport with drop off/collection Donington Park.
- Briefing and sighting laps for each event
- Event administrators to ensure smooth running of event
- Free tea and coffee throughout the event
Tyre support and garages are available at extra cost.
