What Happens on a Young Driver Training Experience?
TrackDays is proud to bring you our range of Young Driver Training experiences that have been specially designed to target juniors aged between 10 - 17, and give them a head start in learning the basic driving skills for the road.
Young Driver Training differs from our Junior Supercar Driving Experience days, in so far as they are more centred on offering an actual insight into what skills are required to drive a vehicle.
There has been extensive research conducted that shows the main factor in 1 in 5 recently qualified drivers being likely to crash their vehicle within their first 6 months is down to experience. The best way to prevent such a statistic is to give kids a chance to learn the skills required from an early age, which is where Young Driver sessions bridge the gap perfectly.
The course is available in either a 30 minute or 60 session, where under 17s will learn skills such as manoeuvring, braking, accelerating, and changing of gears plus many other necessary skills for road driving, conducted on a carefully controlled course that’s designed to emulate real life road conditions as best as possible.
The cars used on these sessions are typically dual-controlled cars such as the Vauxhall Corsa, perfect for tutelage purposes, and under the guidance of an ARDS qualified instructor, the content on the sessions is both informative and delivered in a fun way, which should put both you and your child’s mind at ease.
But that’s not all; we have a number of other exciting Young Driver sessions available in a range of other vehicles, from the sophisticated class of the Bentley Flying Spur out on the track, to off-grid fun in a Mercedes X-Class 4x4 on our Off Road Junior Driving package, or climbing into the cabin of an automatic American Ford F650 Pick Up Truck on our Young American Truck Driving days.
What are the Benefits of Young Driver Training?
Driving lessons for 10 - 17 year olds are a huge benefit for children and young drivers looking for some form of driving experience before they start their formal training with a provisional license at 18 under real-life conditions.
As we mentioned above, it is statistically proven that young drivers are more likely to have an incident within the first year of passing their test than someone who has been driving for a lot longer.
Young Driver Training experiences have been designed to help juniors build up their driving skills and instil confidence not only in a safe manner but also under simulated conditions that they can expect to find on the road. So it’s not only a great experience but also a sound investment in your child’s future driving career.

Where Can My Child Take a Young Driver Training Experience?
Our 30 and 60 minute Young Driver Training sessions are available at by far the biggest selection of locations across the UK we have for any of our experiences on TrackDays - nearly 70 in total to be exact!
Almost every region of the UK is covered and accounted for, and typically they’ll take place at venues that differ greatly from, say, our circuit tracks. That’s everything from Park and Ride facilities, to shopping centres, to racecourses, to football clubs.
Holding them at these venues, whether it’s Colchester United Football Stadium in Essex, the Trafford Centre in Manchester, Chepstow Racecourse in Wales or Clifton South Tram Park and Ride in Nottingham, means the route of the driving course can be more easily laid out so sessions can be conducted in a relaxed environment without distractions.
