What Is A Novice Car Track Day?

It is all too easy to forget that even the most seasoned track drivers started out as wide eyed, eager and anxious newbies once. Which is why, over the last year at TrackDays, we've started offering our range of Novice Car Track Days.

These have been created with first time track day drivers in mind, and are the perfect chance to get a taste of the excitement and thrills abounding from a day driving in your own set of four wheels out on the race circuit.

What Happens on a Novice Car Track Day?

Typically, the length of the track will not be more than 1 mile long, with a couple of chicanes and hairpins, and on some events, the noise limit is capped at around 105db. But those that are just getting started with track driving will find that that's actually the perfect set up whilst they're finding their feet.

The basic track layout on a novice car track day will afford plenty of opportunities to fine tune and perfect driving lines, braking and cornering in a more suitable environment away from the demands of the standard race circuit, where there is no pressure and thus you can be more relaxed as you grow in confidence.

Instructors that are qualified and recognised by ARDS (the Association of Racing Driver Schools) will be on hand at the venue throughout the course of the day, and with some of our track day packages, an in-car tuition session with an instructor is included in the price as well.

Hopefully, by the time you have completed one or two of the novice events, you should be ready to book yourself onto one of the many Car Track Days that are hosted at our venues right across the UK!

Booking a Novice Car Track Day

Getting yourself booked onto a novice car event with TrackDays from our regularly updated calendar works in much the same way as our main Car Track Days calendar does.

Using our filters at the top of this page, you can sort out from our list of all forthcoming event dates by month, by venue, by your region of the UK and by price range. You can also tick the option at the top of the page which allows you to only see what events still have spaces available.

Then it's as simple as clicking or tapping onto the date of your choice and booking directly onto it. All that remains is for you to sit back and get ready to enjoy your first time out on the track!

What are the Best Modifications I Can Make to a Track Day Car?

Whilst no major upgrades to your existing car are required, there are a few small but very effective modifications you can make that will help improve its performance out on track. We've put together a guide to the best modifications for Novice track drivers to make to their cars over on our News page.
