Andalucía, Monteblanco or Portimão? Plan a trip built around your bike and a few proper days on the circuit.
As the UK bike track day season winds down, it is tempting to put the bike away and wait for spring. But your next outing could start with a trip to Spain or Portugal, rather than another long look at the weather forecast.
Our 2027 European bike track day dates give you something to plan towards: time away, a different circuit to learn and the chance to ride your own bike abroad. With track time, accommodation and bike transport offered within selected packages, there is less to organise than you might expect.
Why make it a multi-day trip?
A single day on track can feel over just as you start finding your rhythm. A longer trip gives you the opportunity to settle in, revisit the corners you want to work on and build familiarity across several days. There is also time between sessions to ask questions, make adjustments and enjoy being away with other riders.
The destination is part of the appeal, but the riding remains the reason to go. Southern Europe offers an alternative setting for an early-season outing, although dry weather is never guaranteed.
How does the cost compare with UK track days?
A multi-day European track trip can look expensive at first glance, but it is worth comparing what the price includes. Andalucía packages start from £639, with selected trips offering three or four days on track, the corresponding hotel nights and bike transportation. Flights and other extras cost more, so check the inclusions for your chosen date.
By comparison, a single peak-season bike track day at Brands Hatch can cost around £250 for track time alone, before expenses such as van hire, fuel or an overnight stay. A European trip may therefore offer good value if you want several days of riding—particularly when accommodation and bike transport are included.
Chase the sun and choose your next destination
Andalucía, Spain
Set among the mountains and olive plantations near Tabernas in Almería, Andalucía Circuit offers a 5.02km lap with 17 corners: nine right-handers and eight left-handers. Elevation changes and a 1,060-metre straight give the circuit a varied character, combining opportunities to experience your bike’s acceleration with sections that reward precision and rhythm.
For a multi-day trip, that variety gives you plenty to work on as you become familiar with the layout. Rather than trying to learn everything in one day, you can build your understanding of the circuit across successive sessions.
For example, the 4–7 February 2027 Andalucía event includes:
- Four days on circuit.
- Four nights’ twin-share bed-and-breakfast accommodation.
- Bike transportation.
- Instruction.
- Suspension set-up.
That makes it a useful starting point when comparing what you receive for the overall trip price.
Monteblanco, Spain
Located near La Palma del Condado in Huelva, west of Seville, Monteblanco combines a 960-metre main straight with a circuit offering several layout configurations. The track is 15 metres wide along the main straight and 13 metres wide elsewhere, giving it a spacious feel.
The main circuit features 18 corners, with a mixture of right- and left-hand turns providing a contrast to the long straight. For riders considering a European trip, its appeal goes beyond outright speed: there is also the challenge of linking the corners together and finding a consistent rhythm. Check your event details for the configuration being used.
The current 2027 listing starts on 11 February. Open the event details for the latest itinerary, accommodation and transport information.
Portimão, Portugal
Officially known as the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, Portimão is distinguished by its dramatic elevation changes. The circuit follows the natural contours of the Algarve hills, with steep climbs and descents giving the lap its distinctive rollercoaster character.
The venue opened in November 2008 with the final round of the World Superbike Championship, giving it a strong connection to motorcycle racing from the outset. For track day riders, the attraction is experiencing those changes in gradient on their own bike. Watching an onboard lap beforehand can help you understand the sequence of corners, although learning the circuit’s rhythm remains part of the experience once you arrive.
Make the trip work for you
How does bike transport work?
Included transport does not mean collection from your front door. For the February Andalucía example, the standard drop-off and collection location is Swindon, with alternative locations offered at extra cost. Confirm your event's location, handover dates and packing instructions before committing. Think about how you will get the bike to the drop-off point as well as your own journey overseas.
The bikes are secured in stillages, which can also accommodate some equipment, such as a small toolkit and tyre warmers, subject to the organiser's packing instructions. However, we highly recommend taking your helmet with you on your flight. The bikes are then loaded onto articulated lorries and transported to the circuit, ready for your first day on track.
What should you budget for?
Compare the complete cost of the trip. Check whether you need to budget separately for:
- Flights and baggage.
- Airport transfers or car hire.
- Fuel and tyres.
- Meals outside the stated hotel board.
- Optional upgrades, including single occupancy or extra nights.
Twin-share accommodation is different from a private room. Ask about availability and supplements before making your plans.
What should you check before booking?
- Read the event requirements for riding kit, licences and bike preparation.
- Check the insurance requirements and arrange appropriate cover.
- Confirm which support services are included and which cost extra.
- Confirm the riding dates, hotel nights and bike handover arrangements before booking travel.
- For our European bike track days, you must have repatriation insurance. We are pleased to offer access to this through our affiliation with Activity Sure. Use our bike track day insurance link, where a 10% discount is pre-applied.
