Sadly, all good things must come to an end - even production on popular supercars. But before Lamborghini rolled the last few Gallardo models off their production line in the mid 2010s after a decade in circulation, they saw fit to release a handful of special editions to help send it off in style.
The first of these was the Lamborghini LP550-2 Spyder, which, in common with its other limited edition brothers, utilised parts from their ultra rare Gallardo Super Trofeo race cars, as well as receiving the special ‘Edizione Technica’ designation applied to these exclusive, one-off models.
As befitting its exclusivity, TrackDays offer the LP550-2 Spyder available to drive at only one of our venues - Bovingdon Airfield in Hertfordshire. It’s a perfect place to drive it, as the open ¾ mile long track is ideal to put this supercharged, rear wheel drive convertible through its paces.
It is powered on a fine tuned 5.2 litre V10 engine, which roars out with an incredible 542 bhp. Acceleration on this model will take your breath away, as it zips from 0 - 60 mph in 4.1 seconds, and you can expect to achieve top speeds around 199 mph.
