Those with a keen interest in classic diesel locomotives will simply love the chance to drive a bonafide Class 37 diesel for real on this 60 minute driving experience session! At the heritage Pontypool and Blaenavon Railway in Wales, you will be on a shared session with one other participant, as an expert driver guides you through how to control this famed workhorse that was colloquially known as 'the Tractor' because of its distinctive engine noise, and which could be commonly seen on UK rail networks between 1964 and 2007. Your driving session will be 8 miles down the line from the main station at Furnace Sidings to Coed Avon and back, and then again from Furnace Sidings down to Whistle Inn Halt. It'd make for the perfect surprise for someone who really loves their classic diesel trains!
