Hethel Test Track is situated in the East Anglian county of Norfolk in the small village of Hethel just south of the city of Norwich and is home to the Lotus Group. the site was originally used for agriculture before being converted in 1942 to an airfield housing the USAAF.
In 1966 Colin Chapman bought the site and moved Lotus on site. The old runway was redeveloped into t 2.5-mile test track for Lotus cars and their Formula one cars. The Hethel Test Track is now 2.2 miles in length with 7 corners and has 2 possible layouts the North and South. The North Loop is 1.3 miles and the South Loop is 0.8 miles. The track meets current FIA specifications and though not used as a race circuit it is used for testing and own car track days.
