Kendrew Barracks Junior Driving Experiences

Fresh onto our books for summer 2025 in the East Midlands is our newest venue, Kendrew Barracks, which we're pleased to say will not only be hosting driving experiences for adults, but also for young motoring enthusiasts as well.

Based near Rutland, it was once a former RAF base known as RAF Cottesmore, and it lies close by to the A1(M), affording it fantastic travel connections with nearby towns and cities including Peterborough, Melton Mowbray, Stamford and Grantham.

It's used primarily for barracks purposes by the British Army, so as you might well expect, what facilities are available here for visitors are quite basic and limited, so you are advised to come equipped and dressed for the day accordingly.

However, one thing that you can be assured of is just what fun awaits kids and teens here - not least of all with our epic Junior Supercar packages.

With prices starting from as little as £59, if they've dreamt of getting behind the wheel of that Ferrari, Lamborghini, Audi or Porsche that's adorned the poster on their bedroom wall, this will be the chance for them to do it!

They can book to drive as many as five different marques all on the same package, with our Blast (3 mile) and Thrill (6 mile) options giving them the flexibility to pick their driving time in each of their chosen cars, all under the guidance and encouragement of an expert driving instructor.

Everywhere you look these days, the headlines regarding driving lessons and waiting times to take a test at test centres up and down the UK are making for depressing reading. But, we believe there is an effective way to help your youngster get valuable experience behind the wheel before they even take their full time lessons.

Our special Under 17s Driving Lessons, geared towards 10 - 17 year olds, are available in sessions of either 30 or 60 minutes in length. Behind the wheel of a dual controlled Kia Ceed, they'll be gaining their first basic knowledge of driving under a qualified driving instructor, picking up all the essentials such as pulling away, steering, braking and changing gear.

Studies have been shown that these sessions are very effective in helping reduce the risk of RTCs within their first three months as a newly qualified driver, so in essence, this is not just a great driving day, it's also an investment into their future out on the road.
