What Are The Best Ferraris I Can Book To Drive?

First unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2009, and incorporating a lot of the technological and engineering advancements they had uncovered in their work on Formula 1, the 458 Italia was the first mid-engined Ferrari to utilise both direct fuel injection and an automatic transmission from a dual-clutch, 7-speed GETRAG gearbox. It's superfast acceleration can help it up to top speeds of 202mph.

The next evolutionary step up from the 458 Italia, the Ferrari 488 is powered by a 3.9 litre turbocharged V8 engine and was first launched in 2015. The performance is significantly greater on this model, and that's because it's the first Ferrari to use forced induction since the F40 all the way back in 1987. Plus with a body design that increases down force to reduce the aerodynamic drag by 50%, it all adds up to a lightning quick performance with top speeds of up to 211mph.

By far the fastest grand tourer iteration of a Ferrari in our fleet at time of writing, the 599 GTB Fiorano was first unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in 2006, succeeding the 575M Maranello as their signature two-seater, front-engined car. Taking its name from Ferrari's very own private test track on the Fiorano Circuit, this is a truly aerodynamic model, with underbody spoiler and venturi tunnels to give more of a downforce effect, which helps it achieve top speeds of up to 208mph.
What Makes A Lamborghini Driving Experience Special?
It's a little wild to think that Lamborghini - or Lambo as they're known affectionately - actually didn't start out in supercars, but in agricultural machines. Although given that their cars are known globally as the "raging bulls", because of being named after Spanish fighting bulls, it's little wonder that these origins informed what came next from 1963 onwards.
And a good proportion of supercar devotees grew up with a poster of one of their models on their bedroom wall. Unapologetically brash in design, and even more so in powering with some truly unhinged performance stats, they are by no means supercars for the faint hearted to drive, but they are really good fun to get behind the wheel of for that very reason.

By far one of Lamborghini's most popular models, and famously dubbed as "the best looking car ever made" by Jeremy Clarkson, the Aventador was a worthy successor to the Murcielago. Built and designed with a carbon fibre monocoque, and powered on a naturally aspirated V12 engine, it's brutish and monstrous in all senses, with top speeds achievable of 217mph.

It's difficult to follow a model as popular as the Gallardo was, but Lamborghini definitely unveiled a worthy contender with the Huracan, first showcased at the Geneva Motor Show in 2014. Named after the bull known for its fearless courage when in combat, this car equally demonstrates its toughness when wrestled out onto the track. Powered on a 5.2 litre V10 engine, it has lightning quick acceleration that helps it achieve top speeds of 200mph.

The convertible variant of their Superleggera version of the standard Gallardo supercar, the LP570 Performante has the same power and brawn but is noticeably lighter, weighing in at 3,274 lbs. Built with a carbon fibre monocoque throughout, and powered on a 5.2 litre V10 engine, this is a truly aerodynamic Lamborghini to drive, and is capable of achieving top speeds of up to 201mph.
Which Should I Drive: Ferrari or Lamborghini?
If it's sleek and classy style coupled with signature speed and performance you're after, Ferrari ticks all the boxes. If however, you're more inclined to something a little bit out of the box and definitely not your average road-going car, then Lamborghini will definitely be the one for you.
