With thoughts now turning towards the end of the school year in a few weeks' time, and the beginning of the summer holidays, you're probably wondering what'll keep them occupied for the next couple of months.
Maybe it's already started for those of you with older kids who've completed their arduous long hours of revision for GCSEs and A Levels and who now have a well earned break ahead of them?
Rest assured that, wherever you are in the country, TrackDays has excellent Junior Driving Experiences that your budding young motorist can look forward to getting out on track this summer. Here's just some of our top selections for each region of the UK…
Junior Rally Introduction (£109)
Hosted over at Silverstone Rally School in Northamptonshire, this is a great opportunity to get 14 - 17 year olds introduced to the thrills and spills of rally driving! Following a 20 minute briefing under the tutelage of a qualified rally instructor, you'll then head out onto the rally stage to take in three sessions where you'll get to attempt mastering handbrake turns and power slides. You could even throw in a high speed passenger ride for an additional set fee on the day!
Junior Triple Sports Car Driving Experience (£59)
Three of the most popular performance cars around are on offer for those aged 10 and up to drive over at Wattisham Airfield in Suffolk and Norfolk Gliding Club at Tibenham Airfield near Norfolk. With a fully qualified instructor on hand to take them through a full safety briefing, they can get to grips with the feel and performance of three incredible sports cars, including the Porsche Boxster S, Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X and Subaru Impreza - all that, plus they'll get to take a commemorative certificate home that they can show off to their mates!
Junior Cops and Robbers Driving Experience (£69)
This has only just been made available in the last couple of weeks for booking here on TrackDays, but we think this excellent new experience hosted at Sunderland Circuit near Newcastle upon Tyne is sure to become a future favourite. Kids aged 10 - 16 can not only experience driving in the supercar or movie car of their choice where they "go rogue" from the law, but they can also enjoy driving the BMW Police Interceptor vehicle - so they can have a taste of bringing the bad guys to justice too!
Junior Ferrari 458 Italia Thrill (£99)
One of the most high end models of the famous prancing Italian stallions of the supercar world, the Ferrari 458 Italia is on offer for young Ferrari enthusiasts to drive at Three Sisters Circuit in Wigan. Under the guidance of an expert instructor, they'll get to enjoy 10 minutes' driving time in the 458 Italia on a specially laid out circuit away from the main circuit used for adult experiences, so they can enjoy it in the most relaxed environment possible. And there's more, as for an additional set fee of £30, they can also enjoy a supercar high speed passenger ride!
Young American Truck Driving Taster (£59)
Get ready for some serious trucking time, as for less than £60, your wains aged 15 and up near Belfast or Derry can enjoy climbing up into the cabin of the very latest, fully automatic Ford F650 Pick Up Truck, at Balmoral Park in Lisburn. Following a welcome and safety briefing from the instructor, they'll get to have a go at attempting to drive and manoeuvre this heavy duty, chassis based truck around a specially laid out course for 10 minutes.
Junior Supercar Platinum Blast (£79)
Over at Lochgelly Raceway in Fife, we offer 10 - 17 year olds the opportunity to drive their choice from our platinum range fleet of supercars for 3 miles. Models to pick from include the Audi R8 V10 Plus, McLaren MP4 12c, Lamborghini LP570 Performante and Porsche 911 Carrera amongst others. Conducted in a controlled set up circuit away from the main circuit, an expert instructor will be on hand throughout the drive to help build your child's confidence behind the wheel as they feel the power and performance of their chosen platinum car!
Junior Off Road Experience (£144)
12 - 16 year olds who have more of a delectation for all things off grid will be totally in their element over at our special open country, off road venue in Aldermaston near Reading on this exciting Junior Off Road Experience package. The exclusive 1 hour session will be conducted under the guidance of an experienced off road instructor, as your junior off roader takes on a challenging course consisting of rocky terrains, steep gradients and deep water troughs to navigate through. And best of all, there's a space for one passenger - so a family member or friend can come along for the ride too!
Junior Double Movie Car Drive with High Speed Passenger Ride (£65)
If your future motorist in waiting is a film fanatic, then this experience that's hosted down at Perranporth Airfield in Cornwall will tick all the movie loving boxes twice over! With a fleet selection that includes the Chevrolet 'Bumblebee' Camaro ZL1 from Transformers, the Nissan Skyline R34 from the Fast and Furious films and two iconic Aston Martins (the V8 Vantage and 1975 Vantage) that will leave Bond devotees shaken and very stirred, they'll get to drive their choice of two cars for 3 miles each under the guidance of an expert instructor, with a free high speed passenger ride in a performance saloon car to round off the day included!
The McLaren 570s is perhaps the finest example of a 21st century British sports car; motorsport honed engineering, sleek design and the precision and performance that makes it track ready. And your junior motorsport fan aged 10 - 16 will have the opportunity to take the wheel of the 570s at Llanbedr Airfield in the Snowdonia National Park in North Wales for 3 miles under the encouragement and tutelage of an experienced instructor - with the option to Double the Distance in the car for an additional set fee.
Exclusive Junior Treble Supercar Special (£149)
Hosted exclusively at Seighford Driving Centre in Staffordshire, 10 - 16 year olds have the opportunity to drive first their choice of either a Lamborghini LP570 Superleggera or Ferrari 458 Italia, quickly followed by driving time in their choice of an additional two supercars including the Aston Martin DB9, Audi R8, Nissan GTR and Porsche 997 Turbo amongst many others, all under the guidance of an expert instructor. But that's not all; they can also pick which supercar they want to enjoy a high speed passenger ride, and they'll get to take home a lasting reminder of this incredible day with a photo package to access as a digital download!
Junior Blind Supercar Driving Experience (2 cars) (£162)
Specially designed for kids and teens with a visual impairment, this is one of our Junior Blind Supercar Driving Experiences hosted at Tockwith Driving Centre in North Yorkshire, where your child will have the life changing chance to drive their choice of two supercars - all of which have fully automatic gearboxes, amongst them, the Audi R8, Aston Martin DB9, Ferrari 430 and Nissan GTR, to drive for 3 miles each, under the encouragement and support an expert instructor, who will motivate them to get as involved and hands on with the driving as possible as they get their cars up to speed out on track!
