No holiday season would be complete without Santa's reindeer pulling the sleigh through the starry night sky.
But what if, instead of Rudolph and his friends, Santa was forced to complete his yearly outing in another famous vehicle due to unforeseen circumstances? Maybe the reindeer have gone on strike or were struck down by reindeer flu.
TrackDays.co.uk wondered which Famous Movie Cars would be able to stand in for Rudolph if such a scenario occurred.
From KITT to the Flying Ford in Harry Potter, buckle up as TrackDays.co.uk takes a look at why these movie cars could be excellent stand-ins for Santa's Reindeer.
This 1982 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am was specially customised for Michael Knight (played by David Hasselhoff) with advanced technology, including talking abilities both inside and outside the car!
KITT (Knight Industries Two Thousand) had an array of gadgets like a turbo boost engine power-up mode, jumping capabilities and even a silent mode.
Always on hand to provide some witty humour or sarcastic comment, we feel that KITT would provide ample company for Santa as he shoots around the world. He may just need to use a bit of magic to help KITT fly…
The Batmobile has been reinvented each time the franchise casts a new Batman. Choosing which one proved to be quite difficult, however we decided that Michael Keaton's was the best choice.
This 20 foot monster was based around the chassis of the Chevrolet Impala, with a V-8 engine and its sturdy build would enable this car to handle anything every environment threw at it.
You know that if any unscrupulous villains tried to get one over Santa, this car's arsenal, complete with grappling hooks, disc projectile launchers and a powerful exhaust after-burner, will mean no one will get near Santa's sack of presents.
We can never forget watching Dean Jones succumb to his wishes every time he fired up this quirky little hot rod beauty in the Disney classic 'The Love Bug'. He, and the entire world, instantly fell in love with Herbie resulting in a long-lasting relationship being forged.
With a strong racing pedigree, as well as being capable of driving himself, this iconic car is serious competition for Rudolph to come up against – 'Is that Santa? In Herbie?' Sounds like the stuff of dreams.
Herbie's cheerful, energetic and playful sense of humour would compliment Santa's own attributes and definitely keep him in fine spirits throughout the toughest day of the year for him.
Our last offering is the quirky Ford Anglia from Harry Potter's 'Chamber of Secrets'. This Ford Anglia was born out of J.K Rowling's own memories of her parent's Ford Anglia and such was the impression that it left with her, she had to find a way to bring it into the magical, wizarding world of Harry Potter.
And it is magic which means this car is probably the most efficient and convenient for Santa to use in an emergency. Fitted with charms which would expand the car's interior space, providing ample room for all the presents, and a more comfortable ride for Santa himself, this car also has the ability to become invisible and fly!
What more could Santa ask for? Probably just a bit of style in the Ford Anglia's case.
