As excitement builds for the upcoming British Grand Prix, Brits are expected to channel their inner Lewis Hamilton and Lando Norris by driving a Formula 1 car for themselves.
Indeed, we can exclusively reveal from our latest booking data at TrackDays that our range of Formula 1 driving experiences, which includes a Racing Car Driving Experience Package and Formula Renault Thrill, more than doubled (109%) from 2022 to 2023.
We have seen a surge in interest following the British Grand Prix, with over 1,000 Brits visiting our Formula 1 pages in the week immediately after both the 2022 and 2023 races combined.
Amid the sport's ever-increasing popularity, we expect this year's race on Sunday 7th July at Silverstone to pique Brits' interest even further, with 2024 bookings projected to surpass last year's figures.
Additionally, our brand new F1 Photoshoot packages are set to attract fans' attention. These experiences, hosted exclusively at Bovingdon Airfield in Hertfordshire, offers participants as young as five the opportunity to ride shotgun next to a professional racing driver in a performance saloon car, as well as be photographed with or in the cockpit of the last fully working Jordan EJ12 chassis driven by Takuma Sato for Eddie Jordan's F1 team in 2002.
Dan Jones, Operations Manager at TrackDays.co.uk, says: "Judging by our booking data, it's clear that Brits' love for the high-octane action of Formula 1 clearly extends beyond living rooms and stands."
"Driving these vehicles at high speed around challenging circuits is no easy feat, and the opportunity to experience this firsthand offers fans a new perspective on the sport and highlights the immense skill required to drive them at a world-class level."
