As the UK leaves the EU, new data shows that Brits are in love with one European export…its supercars.
Indeed, bookings for Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Porsches, BMWs and Audis are outpacing other supercars from different parts of the world, including the UK, America and Japan.
Nearly half of all bookings for supercar experiences, 44 per cent, were for prestige models manufactured in mainland Europe, while just 19 per cent were for UK models despite nearly half of all supercar marques available being British.
Dan Jones, Operations Manager at TrackDays, said: “The UK has now left the EU but our appreciation of the pinnacle of European automotive engineering is stronger than ever.
“Whether it’s Italian styling or German engineering, Brits can’t get enough of driving some of the fastest European supercars, many capable of reaching 200 mph.”
TrackDays.co.uk has also revealed the most popular supercars for driving experiences by individual model with six out of the top ten coming from mainland Europe. These were the Lamborghini Gallardo, Audi R8, Ferrari 430, Ferrari 360, BMW i8 and Porsche 911 Carrera.
Dan added: “It’s great to see that we’re as close to our European cousins as ever, well at least when it comes to our love of exotic supercars!”
