If there is one thing that the arrival of spring and the return of warmer weather and longer days calls out for, it's to drive a top of the range supercar with the roof down!
And, let's be honest, it's not many days here in the UK that we get the opportunity to do that, with our weather being as easy to predict as say, the lottery numbers. So when the clouds do part and the sun is shining, for supercar lovers this is very much your opportunity to seize the moment.
So we've taken it upon ourselves to hand-pick three of our best open top or convertible marques that you can book to drive at venues and locations across the UK…
What's better than driving one of the famous 'raging bulls' of this Italian supercar giant? One with the roof down, of course! Launched in 2006, two years after Lamborghini's original Gallardo model, whilst the Gallardo Spyder might look similar to its cousin on first glance, there's a number of key differences that set them apart.
Firstly, is the engine, which is a 5.0 litre V10 compared to the original's 4.8 litre. Acceleration is lightning fast as well, from 0-60 mph in 4.2 seconds, powering out 520 bhp. Once you add the roof coming down, it's bound to be the ride of your life!

Appearing one year after the original R8 V10, German automotive titans Audi first put the R8 V10 Spyder into production in 2010. Like its predecessor, it's kitted out with a 5.8 litre V10 engine that roars out a phenomenal 517 bhp.
But the crucial difference between them both is the construction of the chassis, as on the Spyder model, there's extra support on the rear wheel drive, affording it superb grip and handling to the track, as it scores from 0-60mph in 4 seconds!

We stick with Germany for our final selection now - but probably one of our personal favourites. The original Porsche 911 has a masterful legacy all of its own, but the 911 Spyder adds the thrill and excitement of open-top driving into the mix.
Featured in big screen blockbusters such as Bad Boys and Gone In 60 Seconds, its 3.8 litre engine offers 350 bhp, helping it to accelerate from 0-60mph in 4.6 seconds, and it is capable of top speeds of up to 182mph!
