Trackdays own Marketing and Event Manager Mark Rusted secured a 3rd place finish at the BMCRC (Bemsee) Donington Park July round this weekend. A sticky summers weekend saw temperatures touching 30 degrees combined with overnight electrical storms at the Derbyshire circuit. No Friday practice meant racers were in at the deep end for Saturday qualifying. In the first race Mark was just pipped at the second to last corner for third place in the Saturday afternoon race and was keen to make amends come Sunday!
A busy race schedule on Sunday included a great range of motorcycling categories including Sidecars, Junior 250’s and Superbikes. Mark said "I have done done a few trackdays at Donington but it was my first time racing at this world class circuit. My lap times came down consistently throughout the weekend and the Sunday afternoon race came together nicely for me – I put together everything I had learned across the weekend together with massive determination to bag a strong third place".
An incident on the start grid resulted in racers being held on circuit but the delayed re-start on cold tyres went safely and Mark put in his fastest laps of the weekend to bring home his third place trophy.
