There is no end to the number of useful or even beautiful objects you can make as a blacksmith, as you and a friend, family member or loved one will discover on this one day blacksmith experience for two. With master blacksmith duo Matt and Floyd at the Fair Mile Forge near Leominster in Herefordshire, this small session will give you as much hands-on experience as possible with demonstrations followed by putting your learning into practice to create all sorts of interesting objects, from trinkets to fire tools such as a poker or a hanging basket bracket. Both Matt and Floyd are qualified blacksmiths; Floyd in particular is a second generation blacksmith as his dad was before him, and they are the best teachers to learn from. Working on a solid fuel coke forge, it goes without saying that it'll get a bit mucky, so make sure you dress appropriately. And better still, you'll both have that feeling of satisfaction after making your items as you can take them home as a lasting keepsake of your day!
