Why buy from us?
If you and a loved one, friend or family member have ever thought about what it'd be like to be a blacksmith, this unique 3 hour experience will give you an insight into just what goes on at the forge. The forge in question is the Fair Mile Forge, located just outside Leominster in Worcestershire, and your hosts for this experience, hosted in small groups of four, are Matt and Floyd. Both are master blacksmiths with years of experience, with Matt having worked in a number of different forges up and down the UK, and Floyd being the second generation of blacksmiths after his father. Over the course of your three hour session, you'll learn and attempt the basics of blacksmithing, to help you produce a nice little trinket that you can take home as a reminder of your day, be that a keyring or a hook!

  • Learn the basics of blacksmithing
  • You'll be instructed on how to use the fires and learn about heating and hammering your steel along with watching a demo before creating your own trinkets
  • Take your creations home with you at the end of the workshop
  • Tea and coffee are provided but you are welcome to bring snacks or lunch with you (a local pub takeaway can also be arranged for a supplement)
  • You may form part of a group of up to 4 people

Three Hour Experience

  • Learn how to hand forge trinkets such as hooks and keyrings

  • Minimum age 16
  • Suitable for beginners

  • Not suitable for spectators

Minimum Age: 16 years

  • Three Hour Experience: Saturdays and Sundays starting at 09:00 or 14:00
  • Experiences tend to run fortnightly throughout the year, subject to availability

  • Please wear suitable clothing such as cotton and denim that you do not mind getting dirty
  • Please do not wear acrylic or nylon clothing
  • Closed toe shoes must be worn
