Get ready to roll up your sleeves and do some hard, physical work in this 3 Hour Blacksmith Experience in a fully working forge in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. It's not every day you get the chance to learn an art form which has a history spanning centuries, and alongside the traditionally trained blacksmith, Richard, you'll get a practical insight into how ironworks were made all those years ago. As you learn the fundamentals of blacksmithing and just how much force and heat is required to wield metal, you'll be working to create your bespoke piece to take home with you. Whether you go down the route of a fire poker, bottle opener or candle stick is entirely up to you! But it's safe to say there's nothing better than doing an experience where you get to take part of it home with you. Alongside five other students, all the tools and materials will be provided and some well needed refreshments along the way. Three Hour Session
- Examples of items you can forge: a fire poker, bottle openers, candle sticks, Viking style knife, hair pins, hooks, toasting forks and much more
- You will form part of a small group of up to 5 participants
Suitable For

- Under 18s must be accompanied by a participating adult
- Suitable for beginners and those with some blacksmithing experience alike
- A good, general level of fitness is required
- Not suitable for spectators
