The Formula Renault 2000 is one of the newest additions to our fleet of single seater racing cars we have available for driving experiences here on TrackDays, and all this despite the fact it’s 20 years this year since this particular model first hit the track for the popular Formula Renault 2.0 motor racing series.
This super fast single seater was built with a Tatuus made chassis, a wheelbase measuring 2.64m wide, and a supremely light weight of 565kg. Kitted out with a 2.0 litre Renault Clio engine, hooked up to a Sadev gearbox, it adds up to a winning combination of finessed engineering and on point performance.
And what a performance the Renault 2000 turns in. With the engine powering 190 bhp, it accelerates from 0 - 60 mph in 2.7 seconds and 0 - 100 mph in 5 seconds, and you can expect to achieve top speeds of 150 mph when you take to the track in one.
