Ferrari 550 Driving Experiences

The 550 was two and a half years in development by Ferrari before it was finally unveiled at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany in the summer of 1996. It was an evolution from their previous GT two seater sports cars, which always traditionally had a mid-mounted 180° 12-cylinder flat engine.

The 550 saw a return of a front-engine, rear-wheel drive layout, the first Ferrari model to be engineered in this way since their 365 GTB/4 Daytona ended production in 1973. With a wheelbase of 98.4 inches, and a 6-speed gearbox, and aluminium body panels, it is a GT car built for impressive performance out on the track.

Powering for this two seater supercar comes from a roaring V12 engine, packing 508 bhp. And with acceleration from 0 - 60 mph in 4.2 seconds and 0 - 100 mph in 9.8 seconds, it’s capable of 203 mph, making it one of Ferrari’s fastest ever models, and one you’re unlikely to forget in a hurry.

How Do I Book a Ferrari 550 Driving Experience?

Booking a Ferrari Driving Package is extremely easy here at TrackDays, as we have worked tirelessly to ensure that your experience from booking to stepping into the vehicle is succinct and smooth. We have a variety of payment methods available plus a number of different booking options as well.

If you’re booking an iconic Ferrari experience for yourself then you’ll definitely want to check out our exclusive live date availability calendar. This is an absolutely superb tool that allows you to see the times and availability of the selected package of your choice. You can simply choose the date and time that suits you and book directly onto the experience. This means you can choose premium time slots or even catch a last minute experience rather than having to wait!

Alternatively, if you’re booking for a friend, loved one or family member, then you’ll want to opt for one of our open date gift vouchers. These are a much better option when purchasing for someone else as they allow the lucky recipient to book at a time and date that suits them. It has 10 months validity and they can redeem the voucher online and then use the live date availability calendar as mentioned above.

Remember there are safety restrictions in place for many of our driving experiences - such as age, weight and height. If you are unsure about any of the details our customer service team are here to help you 6 days a week. We also offer junior Ferrari driving experiences and this would usually be stated in the name of the package - but is not always the case. If a driver does not meet the requirements for their experience they will be offered a passenger ride as a replacement.

It’s not many supercars that you can say have inspired the design of a pair of trainers, but it’s absolutely true in the case of the Ferrari 550. The Nike Air Jordan XIVs, which were released in 1998, were inspired by NBA basketballing legend Michael Jordan’s own 550 model.

The 550 also won Ferrari an esteemed accolade from EVO magazine in 2004, as it won their ‘Greatest Drivers’ Car Showdown Challenge’, seeing off competition from, amongst others, the Porsche 911 GT3 and the Honda NSX-R.

All experiences are subject to availability. The most recent information on dates when an event may be available can be checked by looking at the calendars on the website, or when you have activated and logged in with your voucher. Please note not all spaces are shown online so if you cannot see spaces for your event please call or email for dates. We will do our best to secure your preferred choice of event, venue and date, but to avoid disappointment book as early as possible, especially for peak times such as weekends and the summer months which book up very quickly. Do not purchase an experience for yourself or as a gift that has a choice of venues if you or the person it is for are only able to travel to one of the choices. Once you are booked, you are bound by the terms and conditions of the event host of which a copy can be made available upon request. In most circumstances, a cancellation cannot be made once a date has been booked.

When booking by phone or online you should not make arrangements in connection with an Event until you have received your final booking confirmation stating your date and time (this does not include the automatic purchase email you receive that confirms what you have just ordered). Your final confirmation will usually arrive within 48 hours of making the purchase. For voucher redemption see 'voucher conditions' below. Where specific elements of an Event such as vehicles or equipment are not available due to mechanical breakdown, we reserve the right to make reasonable substitutions on the day. If this is not possible we reserve the right to cancel the experience at short notice.

Voucher holders must make a prior booking and receive confirmation in order that an open voucher can be redeemed. We recommend that when you have chosen your experience you redeem your voucher at least 21 days in advance of taking your selected experience. We do not guarantee availability on all events, even if the date is showing, so if a chosen event is full or you cannot find a suitable date during the validity period of your voucher then the credit can be used towards an alternative event. Do not arrive at a venue expecting to be able to use your voucher without making a prior booking and receiving a booking confirmation. Trackdays.co.uk will not be held liable for any costs incurred in such circumstances.

Unless stated otherwise, vouchers are valid for one person only. Where necessary a top-up payment can be made to increase the value of a voucher to book a higher priced event. Note that during the out of season months the price of experience may change. If the price of the event is lower than the value of the voucher the remaining credit will be held for use until the vouchers expiry date. We recommend booking as early as possible as you must have undertaken your experience before the expiry date printed on the front of your Voucher. All vouchers will be valid for use up to the expiry date displayed, but after this date, vouchers will automatically expire and cannot be reinstated under any circumstances. Trackdays.co.uk staff are not responsible for reminding or informing customers when a voucher is due to expire. A voucher holder may book a date which is outside of the expiration date displayed on the voucher but must extend the expiry of their voucher for an administration fee. This must be processed before the original expiry date. Voucher credit cannot be used for extension fees or to pay for booking protection.
