A drifting experience is a style of driving in a high performance car, where you are performing drifting, which is the motorsport technique whereby the driver deliberately oversteers the car, which causes the rear wheels to lose traction, resulting in a controlled slide in and out of corners.
What cars are used on drifting experiences?
Typically, it'll be a high performance, rear-wheel drive car that you'll be learning drifting techniques on. Models that are commonly used on the drifting experiences we sell include the Nissan 350z, the Lexus IS200, the BMW E90 and the Mazda MX5.
Do I need previous experience in order to take part in drifting?
The good news is that you don't need any prior experience to book onto a drifting session. The drifting instructors at the various venues the experience packages are held at are all highly skilled and qualified, so they'll provide you with the guidance and knowledge you need.
What is the age limit for a drifting experience?
The age limit will vary depending on the supplier at the venue, but most drifting experience sessions will require you to be 17 years old and hold a full, valid driving licence.

What is the Purpose of Drifting?
The average driver would no doubt begin to panic if their car started to slide sideways. But with drifting, this is the main objective. By learning to drift in a controlled environment, drivers are actually gaining valuable transferable skills that can be used in the real world should they inadvertently lose control of their car.
The quality of the drifting, for both professionals and amateurs, is judged on angles, speed, style and how well a line is maintained when powering through a corner sideways. The best cars for drifting are rear-wheel drive, manual cars with a handbrake. They don't need to be the most powerful cars in a fleet - with the 200SX being a firm favourite - but you could get a Ferrari to drift if you really wanted to.
From experienced professionals to hobbyists, to those who just want to give it a go, all manner of people are enjoying this unique way of driving. The driving style of drifting originated in the 1970s in Japan and since then, has spread worldwide, with drifting as a form of motorsport, and competitive drifting competitions becoming increasingly popular.
