Adrenaline seekers needing a new thrill can now jump behind the wheel of our Lightweight Legends that punch above their weight!
TrackDays.co.uk is delighted to unveil two, totally brand new packages that can be enjoyed at venues across the country, giving you the chance to either enjoy one or two lightweight models.
These awesome experiences driving aerodynamic supercars, including the Ariel Atom, Caterham 7 and Lotus Evora, take place at specially chosen circuits to get the most out of these track honed cars.
The phenomenal Ariel Atom propels its occupants from 0-60 in a mind-blowing 2.8 seconds, now that's quick! Packing 300 bhp, the Atom is a road-legal high performance open-wheel car and also the ultimate track weapon.
It took the motoring world by storm when launched in 1999, and is now in its fourth generation, getting more powerful and aerodynamic with every reincarnation. The acceleration is legendary and has led it to winning prestigious acceleration tests against other motoring thoroughbreds.
As Ariel itself says about its behemoth: "Nothing else comes close."
Here's another British lightweight iconic model that's been providing high-speed thrills for decades: the Caterham 7.
Once again, the acceleration is extraordinary, smashing 0-60 in a mere 3.5 seconds. It is based on the Lotus 7 developed by Colin Chapman whose design philosophy was "Simplify, then add lightness."
Caterham bought the rights to the design in the early 1970s and the open two-seater continues to amaze drivers to this day. True to its lightweight pedigree, Caterham is spot on when it says "less, is more."
The Lotus Evora completes our amazing homegrown lightweight line up. Launched in 2008, it rockets from 0-60 in just 4.1 seconds and has a more than adequate 400 bhp. The Evora was developed under the code name 'Project Eagle' and continued the tradition of naming Lotus models beginning with the letter 'E'.
It has won several accolades from the motoring press and has competed admirably in various motorsport events. Rightly proud, Lotus says the Evora was "designed from the ground up to be a true supercar". We couldn't agree more.
TrackDays.co.uk has 30 venues where you can put a lightweight legend through its paces. Stretching from the north to the south, from the east to the west, these circuits have been cherry picked to get the best out of these stripped back vehicles.
Locations include the world-famous race circuit Brands Hatch, plus Dunsfold Park, known as the old Top Gear test track.
Putting pedal to the metal in a streamlined supercar will take your breath away and be an experience to be treasured. You'll be given a full safety briefing before taking to the track, and then it's time for the fun to begin.
An expert driving instructor will sit beside you in the car, offering guidance to get the most out of your awesome vehicle. By the end of your drive, we're sure you'll agree that these new experiences are definitely worth the 'weight'!
