KEY POINTS
The great thing about summer is that it is packed with fantastic motoring events. In fact, some of these must attend events have evolved and grown to become mini festivals, offering everything you could possibly want to enjoy time with friends and family.
There's plenty to choose from, so with summer high in the sky, at Trackdays HQ, we've taken a look ahead and chosen some of our favourite motoring events to mark in the calendar.
Summer Motoring Events For Motorsport Fans
Away from the glitz and glamour of global motorsport, there's still plenty of fast-paced and enthralling action to be enjoyed with various British championships at circuits across the UK including at Thruxton and Knockhill.
This is where you'll find competitors from the British Touring Car Championship battle it out, plus riders in the British Superbikes series – both championships offering some of the closest wheel-to-wheel action you'll find anywhere on the planet, with titles often going down to the final few races of the season.
There's also the chance to, literally, enjoy the larger-than-life action with the British Truck Racing Championship with Snetterton being one of the circuits it visits before the season finale at Brands Hatch.
Summer Motoring Events For Motorbike Lovers
As well as the British Superbikes, fans of two wheels can head to a huge array of motorbike events over the summer months.
One of the highlights is the 1000 Bikes Revival at Mallory Park which promises an action-packed weekend of racing, parades, displays and live entertainment. Additionally, there is the Malle Mile Festival at Grimsthorpe Castle which shines a light on motorcycle culture through music and art, among other areas.
In the south of England, there's Motorcycle Day at Brooklands Museum which is billed as offering a huge display of motorcycles, plus Test Hill ascents, race starts, entertainment and food stalls.
Summer Motoring Events With Live Music
If you like banging sounds and banging cars, then it will be music to your ears to know there's a wide mix of motoring events that also place live entertainment centre stage.
This includes CarFest at Silverstone which is brimming with big musical acts that are matched by breathtaking cars, celebrity stars, famous chefs and much more. All-in-all, a fantastic weekend for families looking for fun and quality time together at an iconic venue.
Summer Motoring Events For Performance Car Devotees
Silverstone circuit also plays host to TRAX Silverstone, Britain's biggest live-action performance car show. Be prepared for stunning live track action, motorsport demos and more than 3,500 cars on display.
Summer Motoring Events For Truck Lovers
Make a beeline to the British Motor Museum in Warwickshire as that's where you'll find the Retro Truck Show, a fitting venue for the gathering of over 300 trucks from 1971 to 2001.
It's another great family event, not least because of the amazement enjoyed by youngsters seeing these mammoth machines for the first time.
Summer Motoring Events For Classic Car Enthusiasts
Enthusiasts and devotees of old cars are in their element over the summer months with a good mixture of classic car shows to choose from.
Amongst them is the Classic and Retro Car Revival at Tatton Park which has a big array of classic and retro vehicles, plus there's entertainment and a fun fair. Another show to look out for is Morris Day with our friends at the Great British Car Journey, with plenty of themed cars and other exciting classics to see.
