Rockingham Motor Speedway future uncertain after being sold, with new owners planning "changes in business operations".
Corby's Rockingham Speedway announced on Wednesday that it will cease all motorsport and circuit related activities in 2019, due to business plans of the new owners, who at the time of writing haven't been named.
Events set to take place at the venue in 2018 will still go ahead as planned, but with its future now uncertain, RMSL (Rockingham Motor Speedway Lt) will not be accepting booking beyond this year.
The statement from Rockingham's CEO Peter Hardman said: "A sale of Rockingham Motor Speedway Ltd has now completed and as a result, there will be changes in business operations at the venue.
"We would reassure all customers that these changes will not impact any aspect of events scheduled to run during 2018, nor the opportunity to stage further events this year.
"Until the end of the year, the Rockingham team will remain 100 per cent committed to delivering the venue and associated services as professionally and proudly as ever before.
"We thank you for your continued support and a further statement will follow shortly."
The Corby track had recently been dropped for 2019 by racing series including British GT and BTCC, due to the uncertainty around the venue's future.
