Marc Marquez claimed victory in the Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas to land his fifth straight win in Austin.
The Spaniard, who had started on pole, was passed by Repsol Honda team-mate Dani Pedrosa through turn one, but battled back and pulled clear with 13 laps to go.
Valentino Rossi also passed Pedrosa to take second place, the Movistar Yamaha rider finishing 3.069 seconds behind Marquez. Pedrosa had to settle for third.
After three races of the MotoGP season, Rossi leads the standings by six points from team-mate Maverick Vinales, who crashed out early on in Austin.
