Lesson learnt… Less Accidents Caused by Learner or Inexperienced Drivers - News

Learner or inexperienced car drivers are causing fewer accidents as new figures obtained from the Department for Transport reveal they fell to 2,111 in 2018, continuing a downward trend from previous years.

As a provider of young driver training courses, we've welcomed the news.

Imran Malek, operations manager, said: "More time behind the wheel from a very young age can be invaluable in giving extra confidence in the driving seat.

"It’s also interesting to see that accidents caused by learner or inexperienced car drivers have now fallen consistently for five years. Meanwhile, young driver training gives juniors a head start and can stamp out any bad driving habits at an early age."

Meanwhile, further data from the Department for Transport shows that accidents caused by nervous, uncertain or panicking drivers dropped to 1,091 in 2018, also continuing to fall.

Imran added: "Driving on the open road can be an intimidating experience for some motorists, however, it’s good to see that accidents caused by nervous, uncertain or panicking drivers is also on the decrease.

"A driving experience is a good way to boost driver confidence and, in some cases, such as with our skid control experiences, actively promote better driving techniques to improve real-world motoring skills that could pay dividends.

"Other experiences, including off-road, also test driving skills to the limit. While these packages are great fun, they can provide techniques that will help both on and off the track."
