The recent global spotlight on the home of British motorsport has seen a surge in driving experience bookings, as more and more Brits follow in the skid marks of legends.
However, it’s not just race cars and single seaters that petrolheads are flocking to, as drifting has seen a significant growth in popularity at Silverstone here on TrackDays.
Indeed, our latest figures show that our race car and single seater bookings rose by 10%, immediately following the two recent Grand Prix at the world famous Northamptonshire circuit, showing that thrill seeking Brits don’t just want to watch the action on TV, but actually experience it first hand for themselves on the Stowe Circuit.
Interestingly, recent figures also reveal that drifting experiences have been one of the fastest growing experiences at this iconic venue, and have now grown to more than 1 in 6 bookings.
Dan Jones, operations manager at TrackDays.co.uk, says: “The eyes of the motorsport world have recently been on Silverstone following two, unprecedented, quickfire Grand Prix. TrackDays.co.uk has seen an immediate increase in bookings at the home of British motorsport, up by 10%, following the fast paced action watched by millions. It would indicate that Brits fancy themselves as the next world champion, standing on top of the podium, spraying the champagne."
Meanwhile, away from the fast and furious track action, we can also report that the popularity of our drifting experiences is growing significantly at the circuit.
Dan added: "Think of Silverstone and you think of super fast straights and sweeping bends. However, an increasing number of people would prefer to learn, and test, their drifting skills on a purpose built track. In fact, despite offering more than 25 different experiences at Silverstone, drifting now accounts for one-in-six bookings with TrackDays.co.uk."
