After a 56 year hiatus, the Mini Moke will be making a triumphant comeback to the British Isles. However, we must stress, it will not be returning with the iconic Mini brand.
Moke International Limited officially acquired the rights to the vehicle in 2015, and have announced their plans to bring the Moke back to the UK after having successful stints in the Carribean amongst luxury hotels.
The design of the vehicle is virtually unchanged, with just a few modifications on the chassis size. The new Moke features a 1.1 Litre 4 cylinder fuel injection engine, which produces a whopping 67bhp! The end result? A top speed of 68 mph!
As you’ve probably already guessed, the Moke is a unique vehicle that seemingly fits closer to the karting category than a fully fledged vehicle that you’d expect to see on the UK roads. However, you can guarantee that these new vehicles will undoubtedly be an enormous amount of fun to drive, and they also have some great features making karting look like pure luxury.
From heated windscreens to powered steering, this may look closer to a kart, but it certainly won’t feel like that when you’re behind the wheel. It will also feature the diverse choice of 14 different colours to choose from, really setting out to please a larger audience.
The surprise news of the return of the Moke has certainly caught the attention of car enthusiasts that are keen to see the performance of this new vehicle. This doesn’t come as a surprise to us here, as Karting experiences and unique driving opportunities have certainly become a popular gift idea amongst a wide audience over the last few years.
Here at TrackDays, we sell karting experiences as well as other off roading activities, that always guarantee an injection of fun and receive fantastic reviews!
