For a guaranteed adrenaline rush through the skies, why not try Gliding for the first time? With this introductory session you will be given a brief history of the sport including being shown what rigging and launching entails before you experience 3 aerotows from at least 2000ft. If you’re feeling extra adventurous your instructor may even let you take control of the glider once you’re in the air. Newbies to the sport are always blown away by the unique sound of silence that coincides with sweeping through the air, so although you will experience an initial burst of adrenaline, once steady it will feel like the most peaceful experience in the world. Taking off from Crowland Airfield gives you spectacular views of the Peterborough and surrounding Cambridgeshire countryside as you see this area through new eyes. Not only is gliding an exciting sport, but a unique way to explore an area near you. An unforgettable firsttime experience, as a gift from my wife. Staff were great, so friendly and informal whilst highly professional. Flying the glider oneself with the instructor very much in command on the dual controls was thrilling, heartinmouth at moments e.g. when banking sharply but all perfectly safe. My only reason for not awarding the fifth star was that I wish it had lasted longer Definitely intend to go back next spring, hopefully on a day when there are thermals to take us up higher.

Booked the mile high flight after my girlfriend gave me an experience voucher as a present I was a little nervous and wasnt expecting to be fitted into a parachute, however I neednt have worried, it was a fantastic flight and I got to fly after the tow was released and once the excellent instructor Phil had shown me how to turn etc. Its a dual control glider so no worries, book and enjoy.. the only thing stopping you would be bad weather eg low clouds or high winds affecting the tow aircraft landing safely. Enjoy, life is short and this is definitely one to try.

Great experience. Cloud limited the height we were able to fly, but had about 25 minutes airborne with plenty of time at the controls. Well looked after by Nick who gave an excellent pre flight brief and his relaxed attitude made for a pleasant flight.

Slightly nervous about the experience it was a Christmas gift from my son 18 months ago , I did question his motives but ended up. Thoroughly enjoying it. My glider pilot explained all the safety matters and once in the air allowed control and explained the controls and various movements in a clear manner .amazing views and I loved coming into land .I look forward to my next 2 flights with eager anticipation.

This is ran by volunteers so they are passionate about gliding and are friendly. I was in the air for about 25 minutes and got to take over the controls. Short term membership was also included so you can go again for a discounted rate. I would highly recommend this experience as you do not have to wait long, there is a club house and gliding is an amazing experience.

Hi there I have just completed my first of 3 flights at Peterborough gliding club a fantastic group of members would highly recommend the experience , a bit stomach churning to start with but after a couple of mins in the air you get use to it , cant wait until the next two flights .
