Meet Kevin and Jo Ryan, a passionate husband-and-wife team who left urban life to become the devoted keepers of a wonderful collection of raptors. They will proudly introduce you to their feathered friends and their unique personalities. They are passionate about nurturing the bond between birds and handlers.
During your Hawk Walk experience, you'll meet a variety of raptor residents, each with distinctive character traits that will soon become apparent as you learn to handle them. The impressive 8-foot wingspan of Ruby the Ruppell's Griffon Vulture will leave you in awe as she surveys her surroundings from her favourite perch.
If you're looking for cuteness overload, Boo, the adorable Barn Owl, with her constant surprised look, will leave you smiling. Meg, the Bengal Eagle Owl, will steal your heart as she basks in the warm Yorkshire sunshine, slowly closing her eyes for a peaceful nap.
Then there are the Harris Hawks, Jack and Vera, whose quirky names make them even more endearing.
After meeting both the feathered and non-feathered teams in Halifax, you get to choose your partner for the walk. This is the best part of the session, as you get to work with your favourite bird. With small group sizes (usually up to four guests), you'll have plenty of options.

- Carry a bird of your choice on your gloved fist for a walk
- Plenty of photo opportunities in the beautiful surrounding countryside
- A short refreshment break with tea, coffee, biscuits and homemade scones and jam (Warm mince pies in November - December by the fire)
- Enjoy flying a selection of birds to your gloved fist in the field
- Please allow 3 hours on site
- You will be one of 4 people in a group, giving you a very personal and friendly experience
