KEY POINTS
Let's call a spade a spade. It's been, by all accounts, a damp and grotty old start to the year, with a very long and wet winter. But, with spring slowly approaching, and the Own Car and Own Bike Track Day season now underway at most of our venues, thoughts are turning to lighter, brighter days again.
And indeed, here at Trackdays, we're seeing signs of change as well, as we've recently added some new European circuits which will be hosting track day events from next month onwards. Read on as we profile them and what events are forthcoming there for you to book onto right now…
Also known as TT Circuit Assen, this purpose-built Dutch motorsport circuit was built in 1955, and is known by motorcycle racing fans in particular as being "The Cathedral of Speed".
It has been the home of the Dutch TT since 1949, and also has the distinction of being the venue that has hosted the most MotoGP races every year since then (with the exception of 2020, for obvious reasons).
As well as MotoGP, it also hosts the Superbike World Championships, the British Superbike Championships, the Sidecar World Championships, and also the Supercar Challenge series. It can host around 100,000 spectators, and its fastest lap record has to date been achieved by Ingo Gertsl, who recorded a time of 1:17.109 at the 2023 BOSS GP round.
Next Event: An exciting Euro Bike Track Day event will be taking place on the Full Circuit layout at Assen on Thursday 30th April 2026, which can be booked onto for £449.
At 2.6 miles long, the Misano World Circuit, located next to the town of Misano Adriatico in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy, was first designed in 1969 and opened three years later, in 1972.
Since 2007, it has hosted the annual San Marino and Rimini Riviera leg of the MotoGP calendar. It has gradually been expanded and amended over time, its most recent modifications coming in 2006, which saw the circuit direction change to clockwise, whilst also increasing in length and width.
Aside from MotoGP, it also hosts events such as the Italian GT Championships, Superbike World Championships, the GT Cup Open Europe and the FIM Women's Motorcycling World Championships. Haralds Šlegelmilhs is the current owner of the circuit's highest lap record, registering a time of 1:20.042 at the Misano BOSS Gp in 2024.
Next Event: Saturday 29th August 2026 will see the next Euro Bike Track Day event at Misano on its Full Circuit layout, which can be booked onto for £1049.
Known officially as Circuit Ricardo Tormo, Valencia Circuit really is a spectacle all of its own, boasting a capacity of around 165,000. It's also relatively newer than some other European circuits, as it was first opened back in September 1999.
It was built primarily to be a hub for the burgeoning motorsport industry, training up many prospective Spanish car and bike racers. It was definitely a wise investment, as 18 of the first 45 MotoGP Grand Prixs held at Circuit De Valencia have been won by home riders.
Its warmer temperatures also mean it can be used for approximately 95% of the year - so pretty much guaranteed sunshine awaits you here which is of course appealing of its own accord! And the fastest lap record? Well, that is Andreas Zuber, who still currently holds the unbeaten time of 1:21.244 that he achieved at the 2006 Valencia GP2 series.
Next Event: Valencia's next Euro Bike Track Day event on the full circuit will be on Monday 13th April 2026, although there is also a further event for bike track day goers happening on Saturday 10th October 2026. Both are priced at £899.
