Frequently Asked Questions - Own Car Track Days

Do I need a helmet?

A safety helmet must be worn by all drivers and passengers in the car at all times. Full Face helmets (complete with visor) are compulsory in any Open or Soft Top vehicle.

Do I need track day insurance?

It isn’t compulsory but it is worthwhile considering. Your current road insurance policy probably won’t cover you on the track.

What are noise limits?

All racing circuits have noise restrictions that must be complied with. These will be displayed on the event page, so you can check you meet the requirements before booking.

What happens if my car fails noise testing?

Generally speaking, No refunds can be given if your vehicle fails the static or the drive-by noise limit on the day.

Can I share my car with another driver?

Yes, you can add an additional driver, at the time of booking.

Is overtaking allowed?Is overtaking allowed?

Generally speaking, for most Track Days, it’s acceptable to overtake only on straight parts of the track and never on approaching corners or bends, however there will be some instances when you can’t overtake.

What experience level do I need?

The experience level for each event will be listed. General trackdays are suitable for all levels of circuit experience, there will also be a selection of Novice only track days which are restricted to drivers with little or no experience.

Are there instructors available?

Where tuition is offered, you will be able to add this at the time of booking.
