He takes his inspiration from the places he visits and brings them to life in an incredibly vivid and realistic style. He has real enthusiasm for sketching and this is evident in the tutorials he leads, as you’ll feel equally as inspired in creating your own artwork. Across the eight modules, you can work at the pace that feels best for you, and all advice and guidance and tips are available as you progress through these. You’ll also get lifetime access to an online resource library upon registration for the course. To start with, you’ll look at Architectural - that is to say, the study of shapes, scales and perspectives of buildings, which are a focal point of urban sketches. This is contrasted with Rural, where you’ll focus more closely on tone and texture, and how this blends within the landscape, in particular using bridges as a main point of reference. On Bandstand, you’ll concentrate on context and settings. The Cross looks at busy meeting points within typical urban settings which offer depth and colour, whilst The Clock, as the name suggests, focuses on the focal point of most urban town or city settings - a clock tower, with intricate designs and patterns to hone your craft in on. Your course rounds off with a module on helping you find your own distinctive style of urban sketching, helping you to see all sorts of settings in a totally new light.
