We are excited to offer vouchers for a series of themed weekend workshops dedicated to photography with professional photographer Alan Ranger. These workshops take place in a coastal location in Suffolk. Alan has carefully chosen each Location for its variety of landscapes and natural and man-made features that lend themselves to stunning photography. The shoreline is the main attraction in Suffolk. With long exposures, you can capture breathtaking photos of imposing piers, cute beach huts, and small fishing harbours, all of which contribute to the charm of Suffolk's coastal lifestyle. Join us for a dreamlike experience of coastal photography and learn to take amazing landscape photos of the Great British coastline.

  • Residential photography workshop visiting some amazing spots
  • B and B or hotel accommodation – single occupancy basis (double occupancy available on request)
  • Evening meal reservations booked for you to enjoy a friendly and relaxing evening with the group (food not included unless stated)
  • One to one tuition throughout the event
  • Optional sunset/sunrise shoots - dependant on conditions and wishes of participants
  • Photograph a variety of scenes to learn and practice your skills
  • Visit approximately 2-3 locations a day, subject to the wishes of the group, time, weather and other factors
  • Travel to and from locations is included
  • A detailed itinerary will be provided 5-7 days ahead of workshop that will take into account weather and any other local seasonal factors
  • You will form part of a small group of up to 4 participants

Suffolk Coast (7th - 9th February 2025)

  • 3 day workshop practicing and learning long exposure and the art of black and white photography
  • 2 nights accommodation on a bed and breakfast basis
  • Likely locations: Southwold, Felixstowe, Lowestoft, Walberswick, Dunwich, Orford, Sudbourne, Aldeburgh, Woolbridge

  • Under 16's welcome but must be accompanied by a participating adult
  • Workshops are suitable to any level of experience as 1 to 1 tuition is provided throughout
  • A good, general level of fitness is required

  • Specific dates in 2024/2025 depending on your chosen location
  • Due to popularity it is recommended you book well in advance to secure your preferred date

Suffolk Coast

  • Friday 7th - Sunday 9th February 2025

Minimum Age: 16 years

  • An additional nights accommodation can be arranged for an additional charge payable when booking your date (subject to availability)
  • There is an option (with a supplementary fee - £50) to travel from and back to Coventry with your tutor, payable when booking your date

Equipment required for the workshop:

  • Your camera, fully charged battery and spare batteries if you have them
  • Additional memory card(s) in case required
  • Remote Release Cable to take shots without touching the camera
  • Any lenses are suitable - zooms, wide-angle and macro
  • Tripod (essential) One can be hired for £20 payable when booking your date if required
  • A polarising filter is useful for removing glare and reflections but not essential
