Join us for fencing lessons in London and learn how to foil your opponents! Our package includes six sessions, once a week, hosted by experienced fencers at a renowned fencing school near North London. Each fencing lesson will begin with a warm-up to get your legs ready to move and end with a few fencing bouts. During the first lesson, you'll learn to use a foil and the basics of the sport, including footwork and blade moves. In week two, you'll work on your footwork and learn the defensive Parry followed by the counter-attack, or Riposte. Week three will focus on the feint and disengage tactics that will help you advance your skills for the second half of the course, where you'll learn even more. By the end of the six weeks, you'll be using electronic scoring suits (called a lame!) for bouts of electric fencing, where you'll compete against your classmates. The course will conclude with an exciting competition. The lessons will take place at a dedicated fencing centre near North London. When you put on your fencer's suit and helmet, you'll feel like you're entering a different world, where you'll concentrate on outmanoeuvring your opponent on the floor.

Course Content

  • Introduction and health and safety briefing

  • Minimum age is 14 and all under 16s must be accompanied by a participating adult
  • Participants should wear track suits, t-shirts and trainers

  • Weekdays and weekends throughout the year
  • Weekdays: 19:45 - 21:00
  • Weekends: 14:00-15:15
  • This is a consecutive 6-week course and you will need to attend on the same day and time on a weekly basis for 6-weeks

Minimum Age: 14 years

  • Spectators are welcome at no additional charge
