If you're looking for a fun way to get your adrenaline running, our River Bugging Experience is perfect. With one and a half hours on the water tackling the rapids, drops and splashes on the River Tummel in Aberfeldy. On arrival you will receive an introduction to learn how to safely river bug and get on all the gear provided to you by the centre. Before heading down the rapids your experienced instructors will help you try out the techniques with your webbed gloves in still water. This sport is a newer craze for those who love riding rapids. Don't forget your towel as you will definitely be getting wet.

  • One and a half hours out on the water
  • An introduction on dry land
  • Tackle the rapids, drops and splashes of the river
  • Safety equipment is provided by the venue

  • Allow spending up to three hours at the venue, with approximately one and a half hours out on the water.
  • You will be provided with wet suits, gloves, safety vests and helmets
  • After an introduction on dry land, you'll try the bugs out on still water before you tackle the rapids, drops and splashes of the river under the guidance of an experienced instructor

  • Minimum age is 16 years.
  • Maximum weight is 16 stone
  • There's an element of risk, of course, because the water is cold and fast
  • Expert tuition and a ratio of one instructor to just four bug-riders
  • Non-swimmers are accepted but will need to make instructors aware

  • River Bugging sessions take place on weekdays and weekends throughout the year
