Are you fascinated by bees but maybe don’t have the space or time commitment to having a beehive of your own? This wonderful gift experience will let you adopt a hive and also gives you the opportunity to go and visit your hive in person as well. The hive of busy furry little creatures that you’ll adopt as part of this gift pack are from hives based in Wisley, a beautiful little village in Surrey that just so happens to have its own RHS Garden too. The beekeepers here run regular beekeeping courses, events and experience days, helping buzzing prospective keepers to set out on their journey to producing happy hives of bees all of their own. This is a fabulous gift idea that’s particularly good for young children and grandparents, as there are Adult and Child gift packs available. The gift pack is sent out to you or the lucky recipient in an adorable bee tote bag, in which you’ll find a jar of the honey produced from the hives, complete with wooden twizzler stick. There’s also a seed bomb which you can use to scatter around your garden, window box or green space to plant up bee-friendly flowers. And then, depending on which gift pack you choose, the Child’s version includes a badge, a list of some bee related arts and crafts activities to try out, and a fun factsheet, along with the year’s adoption certificate. Meanwhile, the Adult version includes some beeswax lip balm and/or hand cream, a bee keyring and a bee-themed china mug, together with the adoption certificate. And of course, there’s the all important invite sent out to you around springtime for you to come down to Wisley in the summer for one of the open days to see your adopted hive for yourself, and get up close to the bees you’ve been supporting for the year. Meet the Bees:
