About the Experience
Treat yourself to a couple of hours of creativity with a candle making workshop in Brighton, the perfect way to slow down and make something beautiful with your own hands. Taking place in a charming independent gallery and studio in Hove, just a short walk from the heart of the city, you’ll be welcomed by Charlie, a professional illustrator and designer who will be your tutor for the session. She’ll introduce you to the natural materials you’ll be working with, from pure eco soy wax and beeswax to different wicks, fragrances, dyes and containers. Over the course of two hours, you’ll have a go at creating a variety of candles, including floating candles, container styles and beeswax designs. To make the experience even more enjoyable, there are refreshments on hand – tea, coffee and biscuits for morning sessions, or a glass of bubbly if you are booked in for the afternoon. Charlie will demonstrate each stage and be around to offer tips, but the fun comes from experimenting and letting your senses guide you. At the end you’ll head home with a lovely selection of handmade candles to brighten up your home or give as thoughtful gifts, as well as the satisfaction of having learnt a new craft in a relaxed and friendly setting.
Requirements
This workshop is suitable for those aged 10 and above. Tea, Coffee and biscuits are served in Friday morning classes.
Alcohol is served in Saturday afternoon classes, and strictly to over 18's only.
