Enjoy a charming llama trekking experience for one in the heart of the Northamptonshire countryside, with a visit to Catanger Farm near Towcester. This relaxed and unusual outdoor experience gives you the chance to meet, walk with and learn all about these wonderfully curious animals. Originally a working farm with Highland cattle and goats, everything changed when Henry the llama arrived to help guard the livestock. He quickly became a firm favourite, and before long he was joined by plenty of llama companions, turning the farm into a thriving llama breeding and trekking centre. The treks take place across dedicated farmland, with gentle paths and woodland trails planted back in 1995. It’s a beautifully peaceful setting, perfect for slowing down and enjoying the scenery as you walk alongside your llama. After a warm welcome and an introduction to llama life, you will set off on a guided trek with one of the farm’s friendly residents. You might find yourself walking with characters such as Waffle, Uncle Waldo, Pogo, Idris or Grappa — each with their own personality. Llamas are calm, patient and surprisingly strong, making them ideal companions for a leisurely countryside walk. This experience is a wonderful way to escape the everyday and enjoy a few hours in the company of these gentle, woolly characters at this delightful Northamptonshire farm.
