Polo Experience Days: Step into the saddle and discover the thrilling “sport of kings” with this beginner’s polo lesson at a Hampshire riding school. This one-hour introductory experience is designed to teach you the fundamentals of polo in a fun, supportive environment, whether you’re an experienced rider or completely new to horse riding.
Often associated with royalty and tradition, polo is far more accessible than you might think. You will learn how to handle the polo mallet, control the pony, and strike the ball, all under the guidance of expert instructors. After a short briefing and time to get kitted out and mounted, you’ll spend the majority of the session on horseback developing your skills.
The lesson finishes with a friendly mini game, giving you the chance to put everything you have learned into practice. Exciting, social and surprisingly addictive, this polo lesson offers a unique way to try something new and unforgettable.

The Hampshire Polo School is open throughout the year. During the winter months, the school utilises the 90m x 40m all-weather arena, complete with curved corners for a better game of polo, and amazing views of the countryside.
There is a superb grass polo field that is used during the summer months.

Equipment & Clothing
Please wear jeans/jodhpurs and small heeled shoes that are suitable for riding.
Riding gloves are optional, and the polo school will provide riding helmets (as well as the mallet and balls - and the pony!).
High heels, skirts and jewellery should not be worn.

Only very severe weather will affect the running of the polo lessons.
