Land boarding is a fast-paced and exhilarating sport that blends elements of kitesurfing, snowboarding and skateboarding, and it’s easy to see why it’s growing so rapidly in popularity across the UK. One of its biggest advantages is versatility – land boarding can be enjoyed on beaches or open grassland, without relying on snow, waves or perfect water conditions. Wherever there’s wind, you can get riding.
While it may look impressive, land boarding is surprisingly accessible for beginners. This two-day land boarding course is designed to help you become a confident, self-sufficient rider in a safe, fun and supportive environment. You will spend most of the course flying the kite and developing practical board skills, learning how to harness the wind’s power to build speed, control and confidence.
Day one begins with a safety briefing and a full introduction to the equipment, including the land board, kite and harness. You will then learn how to fly and control traction kites, getting used to the power they generate before taking to the board for your first runs. Day two focuses on progression, building on your new skills with improved techniques such as edging, and for those feeling brave, the chance to attempt your first jumps.
Requirements
The minimum age is 16.
There are no specific requirements regarding maximum size but you will need to fit into a harness - please check with the centre when booking if you have concerns regarding this.

Hampshire is available from May to October only.

Spectators Allowed on Site: Yes
Group sizes vary but will usually be 2 - 4 students per instructor.
Spectators are welcome, but please listen to the instructors as to where the safest place to stand and watch is.

The course will last five to six hours per day over two days.
Restrictions
Minimum Age: 16 years
Equipment & Clothing
All equipment will be supplied - this includes kite, board, harness, helmet and pads.
You should wear trainers and clothes that you don't mind getting muddy.
Weather
Land boarding is weather dependent, you need wind! Please make sure you call the centre either the day before or on the actual day of your course to check that your lessons is going ahead.
