Take to the (virtual) skies with this Ultimate Lancaster Bomber Flying Experience based at Shoreham Airport near Brighton. With no age or weight restrictions this experience is suitable for aviation lovers young and old! During your experience you will receive two 30 min sessions flying. With 1:1 tuition from an experienced simulator instructor, you will test your flying skills, performing manoeuvres like low flying over the Severn Bridge. In the second session you will change countries flying over the same German Dams as the famous Dambuster Pilots. You will have a genuine Lancaster headset in allowing you to speak with your instructor throughout the flight. With the realistic sounds and visuals the experience is immersive and you’ll feel like you are actually in the air.

  • Based at a flying club at Brighton City Airport
  • Get a feel for what it was like as WWII bomber pilot

  • Flight simulator experience in a replica Lancaster Bomber cockpit
  • Welcome, introduction and briefing
  • Learn about the history of the Lancaster Bomber
  • 1:1 tuition from you experienced simulator instructor

  • Take off and fly the Lancaster under the guidance of the simulator instructor
  • Test your skills by flying under the severn bridge and return back to try your hand at landing
  • You will receive a mission briefing before testing your newly acquired skills
  • Fly low level over the same damson Germany as the heroic Dambusters Pilots
  • Allow approximately 2 hours on site for this experience
  • This is a fixed base simulator and does not move
  • The simulator is located within an active hanger. All persons must be escorted when airside or in the hanger to comply with security and health and safety requirements
  • One spectator may accompany you to observe your session

  • Simulator session take place on Wednesday and Saturdays throughout the year, subject to availability
  • Morning and afternoon sessions are generally available

  • No age or weight restrictions
  • Under 16's must be accompanied onsite by an adult
