Gliding provides a magnificent aerial view of the breathtaking South Devonshire countryside and is a unique way to explore Dartmoor. Two twin-seat training sailplanes - the correct term for gliders - are available at this small, welcoming club close to Tavistock, ready to launch you into the air over Dartmoor using the winch system.

One Winch Launches:

  • Between 6 to 20 minutes of gliding time per winch launch depending on the weather conditions
  • At the end of your experience you will be presented with a certificate

  • Maximum height 6ft 3 inches
  • Maximum weight 16 stone
  • Participants are required to declare they have no medical conditions that would stop them from flying
  • Warm clothing and sturdy footwear in recommended

  • Spectators are welcome

  • Saturdays and Sundays throughout the year
  • Dates and session times are subject to availability and weather conditions
  • Day courses run from 9:00am to 17:00pm with a break for lunch

  • Tea, coffee and biscuits are provided in the clubhouse
  • Participants of the one day course are advised to bring along a packed lunch

Our ethos is that your 'experience' should begin from the moment you first browse the site and we can deliver this because of:
  • - once you buy a voucher you are not then left to book the experience yourself. We handle your booking from A-Z, not only providing online dates but also dealing with the supplier to secure your date. Even after you have had your experience, we will ask you for a review of the event to ensure everything went ok.
  • - Our core staff have been working in the industry since 2004 and have all the experience necessary to deliver the experience that is perfect for you.
  • - Each venue and provider has been vetted by us and reviewed by our customers meaning we can give you honest, unbiased advice about what you are ordering.

  • - After each event we invite our customers to review the venue and the provider. This valuable feedback is then used to improve our service and also made public to other customers considering the same event. Thoroughly enjoyed my glider flight, although i was disapointed that i didn't get a tempory mmbership to the club to enable me to have further flights as i was lead to believe. Would like to have done more flightsas the weather wasn't that good on the day as my 2 winches only lasted a total of 9 minutes.

Had a beautiful afternoon up on the Moor with the team from the Dartmoor gliding club. I would recommend this lesson - The team are so friendly and helpful.
