About the Experience
Outdoor Experience Days: It’s time to dive headfirst into adventure with this exhilarating half-day gorge walking experience in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park. Set within the stunning Glamorgan countryside, you will explore one of two incredible rivers, discovering the dramatic gorges and rock formations carved out over thousands of years.
After meeting your expert instructors at the adventure centre, you will be kitted out with helmets and buoyancy aids before heading into the wild. Over three action-packed hours, you will trek along riverbeds, scramble across rocks, wade through rushing water, swim in crystal-clear pools and maybe even leap from waterfalls — all surrounded by breathtaking Welsh scenery.
It’s physical, it’s refreshing, and it’s seriously good fun — the perfect outdoor experience for thrill-seekers who love getting stuck into nature.

This half-day gorge walking adventure in Merthyr Tydfil is available throughout the year on both weekdays and weekends, at 9:15am and 1:15pm.
Please note that bookings in May, June and July can be tricky due to higher numbers of large group bookings, so please give plenty of notice.

This is a 3-hour experience, taking you out into the BreconBeacons, so it is not suitable for non-participating spectators.

However, if severe weather conditions cause the experience to be deemed unsafe, you will simply be re-scheduled for an alternative date.
