'Yarak'

  • Full day (6 hour) bird of prey experience
  • Hands-on and up-close demonstrations from the professionals, with a break for a light lunch, there is the Cafe at Sumners Ponds, where food can be purchased or you can bring your own picnic to eat

Suitable For

  • Minimum age 16
  • Under 16s must be accompanied by a participating or spectating adult 

Availability

  • Selected weekdays and weekends between February and November
  • Dates are subject to availability and Weather conditions
  • Full day experiences generally start at 10:15 am finishing around 4:15 pm, this experience only run on specific dates throughout the year

Restrictions

Minimum Age: 8 years

Spectators

  • Up to 2 adult spectators per booking are welcome to attend for an additional charge, payable when booking your date, please bring the exact cash amount, unable to take card payments
  • Spectator tickets must be pre booked when you make your booking
  • Spectators are £30 per person for Yarak
  • Please do not bring along babies, infants, toddlers or children under 8 years old with you. Please arrange suitable care for them beforehand; or a member of your party can take the children to the café or play area on the farm

We had an amazing experience yesterday at Hawk on the Wildside near Horsham. My husband had the opportunity to handle 6 varies including owls, vultures, falcons and kestrels. It was amazing The knowledge the handlers have is fantastic and the expertise of the way they teach you to handle the birds of prey is superb. I can highly recommend this experience to anyone who loves the power of intelligence of birds of prey. Thank you for memories that will last a lifetime.

My daughter brought us this for Christmas and we had a wonderful time. Lovely quiet location. The ladies who run this are lovely, attentive and ever so helpful. The hawks are beautiful and very well looked after. A must for anyone who is interested in these amazing animals. 5star treatment and experience.

An unforgettable morning. The range of birds was definitely the WOW factor. The instructors were welcoming, knowledgeable and informative. There were three people on the course but we all got at least three goes at flying each of five birds. I would recommend the experience.

Our day turned out very wet. We did not receive a cancellation so travelled to the site. Birds cannot fly well in the wet but the people were very happy to let us carry out the experience under cover. In fact we had a superb time. My grandson is only 7 but he thoroughly enjoyed himself and the ladies were very informative and answered all his questions. He held the birds and the final bird, a Harris hawk took place outside as the rain had stopped. Would recommend this experience to others, wonderful time. We intend to go back next year.

Very enjoyable half day experience. Very informative. Really helpful when having to rearrange visit owing to bad weather. Enjoyed the owls but disappointed that I only experienced flying one aging hawk.
