The castle's moat and picturesque surroundings provide a beautiful backdrop for your falconry adventure. The birds of prey that call the castle grounds their home are expertly trained by the head falconer, Gerard, who is passionate about his profession. Thanks to his expertise and care, these birds fly with grace and precision.
During your visit, you'll have the chance to meet and fly a variety of birds, including Kestrels, Barn Owls, Laner Falcons, and Harris Hawks. As you walk with the Hawks through the woodlands and pastures surrounding the castle, you'll be filled with a sense of wonder and excitement that only comes from being in close proximity to these magnificent creatures.
There are two options available: half-day and full-day falconry sessions. Regardless of which option you choose, you'll fly an Owl and walk with a Hawk for around two hours. The full-day experience includes more time with the birds and the opportunity to explore the gardens, have lunch at a nearby pub, or visit the tea rooms.

A Falconry Experience in the stunning grounds of Herstmonceux Castle
- Introduction to your experienced instructor and the birds

Full Day
- Allow approximately five hours for this experience
- On a full day experience, you will fly at least six birds of prey, including Owls, hawks, and Falcons
