This is one thrillseeker experience that's a real test of nerves, as you go on a Forward and Backward Bridge Bungee Jump off the Larpool Viaduct near Whitby in North Yorkshire! All in the same day, you'll get to attempt jumping forwards and - most dizzyingly of all - backwards off this impressive former railway viaduct that stretches across the River Esk, and under the guidance of an expert jumpmaster, attached to an elastic bungee cord, you'll jump forwards and backwards - and bounce right back up - a whopping 130 ft in the air. You're welcome to bring friends and family along to watch you take on the flight of your life as well!

Forwards and Backwards Bridge Bungee Jump:

  • Once on the bridge safety checks are made by the professional jump crew
  • The jumpmaster will talk you through your jump
  • A waiting boat will collect you from the air and take you back to dry land
  • A personalised certificate is issued to all jumpers
  • On the Forward and Backward Jumps you will experience one forward and one backward jump

Larpool Viaduct:

  • A 40 metre (131 ft) bungee jump over water from the stunning Larpool Viaduct
  • Registration at Whitby College, a short 5 minute walk from the bridge
  • Opportunity to take in the views before jumping over the River Esk

You should arrive about 30 mins prior to your jump time and allow between 2 -3 hours for your jump. This is to allow for registration and all safety checks.

Due to a limited number of spaces being available on each event it is necessary for you to pre-book your jump before the day of your event. If you arrive on the day of the event without previously booking your experience we may not be able to accommodate your jump.

  • Maximum weight limit for a solo jumper is 120kg (18.9 stone)
  • Maximum weight limit for a tandem jump is 217kg (34.17 stone)
  • Waist harnesses fit waist size of 40cm (15.7 inches) to 125cm (49.2 inches)
  • No under 14s
  • 14 and 16 year olds require a parent or guardians permission and signature
  • There is no upper age limit, however all participants must be fit and healthy
  • You can NOT jump if you are pregnant or under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs
  • If any of the following apply, you must seek professional medical advice before jumping and sign a non-standard waiver: high blood pressure, heart condition, suffer from dizziness or epilepsy, damage to neck, back, spinal column, legs or eyes, or you are an asthma sufferer
  • If you are taking any form of prescribed medication, please inform us of how this may affect you
  • If you are over 50 years old, you must seek professional medical advice before jumping and you will be required to sign a non-standard waiver stating this, alongside the fact you are aware that your age may contribute to a greater risk of aggravating any present or past medical and/or physical condition
  • If you are not in good health you should NOT participate. The suppliers are not medically trained professionals and therefore cannot comment on individual cases, therefore it is strongly recommended you consult your doctor if you have any concerns about your health
  • Dress in comfortable, casual clothes. Skirts / dresses are not recommended. Also please refrain from wearing boots or anything that may interfere with ankle harnesses, otherwise they will have to be removed prior to jumping. Trainers and securely fastened shoes are fine
  • You are welcome to bring spectators free of charge to watch you jump

Extreme weather conditions may affect this experience, mainly high winds and thunderstorms. If in doubt, please look at the event information page to check before setting off. Please ensure that you provide a contact telephone number when booking this experience, as we need a mobile contact number for the day of your jump in case of inclement weather.
