Excellent morning, Genesis was the perfect hostinstructor, clearly knowledgeable and he allowed us to work at our pace with the right input as required. Highly recommended as an introduction to forging, and I was delighted with the outcome.

A superb experience. With absolutely no experience of the art we left feeling a tremendous sense of achievement. The tuition was skilled. With clear guidance and step by step demonstration of each key stage required to forge a basic, but to the novice a quite intricate looking and remarkably functional implement. Along with advice on how to safely handle the tools, red hot metal, the basics of the furnace, enough technical explanation as to how and why the metal behaved as it did when heated and struck ensured that each novice was able to complete their task with little or no hands on assistance from the master which heightens the sense of achievement. The final boost to this sense of achievement comes with being able to use the fruits of 34 hours of toil at the forge, around the table with the other novices consuming a basic but ample feast. Fantastic value.

I joined my Dad and Partner for the forage and feast experience where we made an ornate knife under Genesiss watchful eye.The day was a fantastic experience and we were able to use our knives at the end of the session during our lunch.Would highly recommend it to any budding blacksmiths

A superb experience This was due largely to the expertise of Genesis owner of the Forge and the trainer whose skills as a trainer and blacksmith were matched only by his patience and good humour. But in addition the fact that I made the product and was able to use it for the subsequent cheese and pickles Feast delicious rounded off the event most satisfactorily. All this from me having absolutely no prior experience of metalworking. Highly recommended. Thanks Genesis.

Absolutely fantastic day spent learning the basics of smithing. Would fully recommend to anyone who has even a passing interest in blacksmithing or crafts in general. Will be looking to go again in the future.

Absolutely brilliant
I had no idea what to expect from this experience, but it was a thoroughly enjoyable day, picking up new skills, and having the satisfaction of seeing the product of my efforts take shape in real time. Genesis is a fantastic teacher, who was very easy to get along with, and made picking up this craft so much more enjoyable. Im even considering going back for some more
The Forge experience was excellent. We were taken through the process of creating a steel knife step by step, and this was accompanied by a lot of background insight into forging metal. It was a great day

I had a great time with Genesis. He was enthusiastic, professional and patient, demonstrating each step before supporting us to complete it ourselves. We then had a lovely chat over a light lunch using our knives.I would and have recommend this experience to anyone, its a great time

As someone whos never been any good making things this present gave me the opportunity to do something Im obsessed with watching and have always wanted to have a go at. Genesis the blacksmithbladesmithmetal magician welcomed us all into his coal fired kingdom and got the best out of all four of us forging and shaping our very own knives which at the end of an enjoyable few hours, we dug into some hearty cheese, breads and onions etc using what we had made Now I really do want my own forge, anvil and hammer Its something everyone would enjoy and get something from and so relaxing.

Awesome day with a great teacher It was great to have someone show you their craft and explain the steps so they were easy to understand. His knowledge of the history of the craft made for an interesting conversation over lunch. Would definitely recommend and would do again Really pleased with the results.

What a fantastic way to spend a Sunday. Genesis was a brilliant teacher with a mass of knowledge and patience. I booked this for my brother as a gift but couldnt resist doing it myself. From a blank piece of steel to functioning knife with no prior experience. Topped off with cheese and pickles all cut with the knife we just made. Thanks Genesis youll no doubt be seeing us again Im sure.
