Experience the thrill of flying birds of prey in the beautiful North Devonshire countryside with our exclusive one-hour falconry experience! Our private falconry experiences can accommodate up to two adults and two children aged 10-16. We offer adult vouchers and family packages. The experiences are held in a serene location between Okehampton and Bideford. Passionate falconer David will be your host for the event. David is an expert at rearing, training, and working with these magnificent birds of prey. His dedication and patience are admirable as he works hard to establish trust between the bird and the handler. You will witness the bond between the bird and David as they work together as a happy team. You have two options to choose from: Hawk Walk or Meet & Greet. During the Hawk Walk, you will take a leisurely stroll around the beautiful North Devon countryside with one of David's Harris Hawks. You will have the opportunity to observe these magnificent creatures as they soar in and out of trees and hedgerows before they return to your gloved hand. During the Meet and greet session, you will be in an area where birds are kept. You'll have the opportunity to fly a beautiful Barn Owl and greet the Harris Hawks and Buzzards. During both experiences, you will hear the stories of the raptors, learn how to care for them, and discover that each raptor has its own unique personality. Book now for an unforgettable experience!

Hawk Walk Experience

  • Take a stroll outdoors with a Harris hawk
  • The hawk will follow along, flying from tree to tree and then will fly back to your gloved hand
  • You'll be shown how to recall the hawk to your glove (or a post if you are unsure) when it is free flying
  • Learn about the equipment and handling techniques involved with falconry along with information about Harris hawks

Meet & Greet Experience

  • Hold and interact with a barn owl and walk it on your gloved hand
  • Meet a Harris hawk and buzzard
  • Learn about the birds, their environment, habitats and conservation
  • Opportunity to take photographs


  • Adult Voucher: Minimum age 17
  • Family Voucher: Valid for up to two adults and two children (10-16 years old)

  • Weekdays and weekends throughout the year, subject to availability
  • Experiences are weather dependent and may be rescheduled in the case of bad weather
